About The Opportunity:

Darling Group are looking for an experienced Event Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. Become an integral part of a professional team in an iconic venue that is committed to executing exceptional experiences.

Outstanding people make it all happen and we are looking for a highly skilled individual to assist in running the event kitchen in one of our flagship venues.

You must be highly motivated and focused, demonstrate excellent culinary skill, have strong attention to detail, and a great work ethic.

 

About The Terrace:

Located in the heart of Melbourne’s Royal Botanic Gardens, The Terrace provides the perfect back drop for any event. With uninterrupted views across the Ornamental Lake and city beyond.

The Terrace is a place for every occasion, every celebration of life, from the ritual of morning coffee and hot scones to unforgettable parties, events and wedding banquets.

Experience & Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-end catering or event setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with front and back of house
  • Excellent organisational skills with the capability to multi-task.
  • Fully understands and complies with OH&S standards and food safety requirements
  • The ability to effectively manage, mentor & communicate with a diverse team
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in inventory management and kitchen management software
  • A proven track record of maintaining food and wage costs
  • Display exemplary leadership and passion for Australian & global cuisine trends
  • Collaborate with Head Chef to forward plan menus, cost and then execute menu changes
